Terms of service
These terms are a plain-language agreement between you and [[LEGAL_ENTITY]] (“albirint”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.
1. The service
albirint is a hosted data analytics application. You connect data you own or are authorised to use, ask questions about it in plain English, and albirint plans and runs an analysis and returns the result. We also make the underlying analysis engine available as an API under separately agreed terms.
An AI model is used to plan each analysis. The computation itself is performed by deterministic software. We describe how this works on the about page.
2. Accounts
You need an account to use most of the service. You must give an accurate email address, confirm it when asked, and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live.
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used unlawfully, or that puts the service or other customers at risk.
3. Plans, billing and cancellation
Plans and prices are published on the plans page. Paid plans are subscriptions billed monthly or annually in advance, and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any sales tax, VAT or equivalent that may apply where you are.
Cancellation, renewal and refunds are covered in the refunds and cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms. We may change prices; we will give at least 30 days' notice before a change affects an existing subscription, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
4. Usage limits
Each plan carries limits — queries per week, notebooks, data sources, upload size, and saved pipelines. Weekly limits reset every Monday at 00:00 UTC. When you reach a limit, new queries pause until the window resets or you move to a larger plan. We do not charge overage fees. We may apply reasonable technical limits to protect the service, and we may decline or stop an analysis that would consume a disproportionate amount of resources.
5. Your data
You own the data you bring, and the results albirint produces from it. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your data, process it to answer your questions, and keep the records described in the privacy policy.
We do not sell your data. We do not use the contents of your data to train AI models.
Intermediate results produced during an analysis are temporary and are deleted automatically after a retention period. What is kept is the notebook's recipe — which steps ran, in what order, on which source — so an analysis can be re-run. Export your results if you need to keep them.
You are responsible for having the right to use any data you connect, and for not uploading data you are not permitted to process.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone's rights, using the service;
- upload data you have no right to process, or that you are contractually or legally barred from sending to a third-party processor;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, other customers' data, or the systems we run on;
- probe, scan, overload or disrupt the service, or work around its usage limits or access controls;
- resell or redistribute the service without our written agreement;
- use the service to build a directly competing product.
7. Accuracy of results
albirint computes results from the data you supply. Analyses are planned by an AI model, which can misunderstand a question or choose an approach that does not match your intent. The plan for every analysis is visible to you, and each step's result can be inspected, so you can check the work.
You should review results before relying on them, especially for financial, legal, medical or safety-related decisions. We do not warrant that a given analysis answers the question you meant to ask.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the service available and to give notice of planned maintenance where practical, but the service is provided on an “as available” basis and we do not offer a service-level guarantee on standard plans. Enterprise customers may agree availability commitments in writing.
9. Third parties
We use third-party providers for hosting, storage, AI planning, email, payments and error reporting. They are listed in the privacy policy. We remain responsible to you for the service.
10. Intellectual property
We own the albirint software, brand and documentation. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is in good standing. You may send us feedback, and we may use it without obligation to you.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss or corruption of data, and our total liability arising out of or in connection with the service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in that period.
12. Termination
You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice and a chance to export your data. On termination, your right to use the service ends and we delete your data as described in the privacy policy.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will notify you by email or in the application before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [[JURISDICTION]], and the courts of [[JURISDICTION]] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any competent court. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law where you live.
